Ken Bates today confirmed that Leeds have applied for the maximum allocation available to the competing sides.

The four clubs had to submit their applications to the Football League ahead of the semi-finals to speed up the sales process.

Leeds have already determined their pecking order for the tickets with corporates, season ticket holders, existing members and fans who join the membership scheme in readiness for next season all on the priority list.

After that, United are offering non-season ticket holders and non-members who purchase tickets for the home leg of the play-off semi-final the promise of preferential treatment for final tickets before they are put on general sale.

Leeds currently have around 24,000 members, including season ticket holders, and even allowing for an increase in membership levels ahead of the final it's expected that a number of tickets will be available to the general public.

Tickets are now on sale for the play-off home leg, which will take place on either Friday May 5 or Tuesday May 9, and Leeds are hoping to break the 30,000-barrier for the first time since Lucas Radebe's testimonial 12 months ago.

United will learn their opponents on Sunday when the exact dates of the play-off semi-finals will be confirmed.
