Leeds Ladies 2 Fulham Ladies 1

Fulham had taken the lead when Sarah Regan netted her second goal in three games.

But England winger Sue Smith equalised before McArthur prevented her old club from celebrating a first point of the campaign.

The midfielder was left with mixed feelings as the Cottagers continue to be rock-bottom and without a point with almost two-thirds of their fixtures completed.

McArthur was part of the Fulham team that saw little but success in their three years as a full-time professional outfit.

Those days are long gone, however, and having been abandoned by their parent club at the start of the current campaign the rags to riches rise is well and truly in reverse. "I feel really sorry for them," said McArthur, who moved north from Arsenal in August.

"They're working hard as a club and the players are battling away but they just don't seem to be getting the breaks. This is the second time we've beaten them by a single goal and they've looked a decent side on both occasions, so I'm surprised they've still got no points on the board."
