Pre-Season Tour With Mick Hewitt - Day Three

If it was funny you would laugh out loud.

Our football club arrange pre-season in Austria where a group of Frankfurt supporters attacked us in 2015.So why not arrange 2 friendlies this time and hope for the best. It is a French farce at best. As the day starts we have no match until Thursday .We planned to go to the Eagles Nest Hitler's retreat on the Wednesday due to the cancellation we changed to Sunday .A long trip in weekend traffic was... not what you want after getting back at 1230.But plenty of room and a pleasant trip we travel 3 hours to be herded into a tunnel like cattle awaiting (they tell us a lift ) .Now somewhere in history I had read about similar situations in Germany but no put that out of your mind Mick.It took forever to get the the top. However, spectacular views and a cold beer we are now happy.
We spend no more than an hour up there and return to the coach. A couple of hour pub stop and away back to Munich. Pint in the hotel and down to hirchgarden beer garden. No sooner had we got our 1st beer news starts coming in about a match Monday.
I move into check it out mode and get in touch with coach company and any contacts I have. We move back to hotel and walk through the park which is pitch black. After a few hundred yards, out of the bushes spring the 2 Danny's scaring everyone to death. I spend next couple of hours once phone recharged checking and batting calls and messages from other groups in all points of Germany and Austria. We have no confirmation, no word from our club and playing a Turkish team you could not make this up.
We arrange a 9am meet next day to make a decision. What a mess!!
