Pre-Season Tour With Mick Hewitt - Day Seven

Last updated : 21 July 2017 By .

Yes Day 7!
I had a feeling this day would go pear shaped. Our glorious club and the decision makers had thought it okay to not only sell away tickets whilst 500 or so fans were travelling to a game in Austria. But also open it to a free for all instead of loyalty.

It was all over in 15 minutes, sold out with check out problems reported from various sources.

A sour taste in the mouth I tweet our anger. 3000 extra season tickets, most of whom were long time sufferers of not getting tickets on gold cards. Add to the fact 500 Away season tickets now saved for sale. We have history that the ticket system cannot cope. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Club response is there were no system problems and it must be we are trying to order too many in time allocated.

We know how to order ticket and how long it takes and it's not just us.
I am writing to club re the issues if anyone had check out problems to report let me know.

Onto the match it's Borussia Monchengladbach v Leeds United .

We have a 9am depart, you would think people would make it early but no,waiting for people delays departure. A busy motorway with M1 type problems but we arrive at 11:15am.

People dash to find internet access. We settle into a bar /restaurant that is packed within half an hour. We have a few beers but the staff, not knowing there was a game on could not cope.

Girl in charge is doing okay but service getting slower and with pay later policy it goes to pot.

A table of 4 from Bournemouth leave without paying and cause a rumpus as she realises it is going to happen again.

I saw the ones responsible who justified not paying to time it took to serve. Out of order I hope you are ashamed of yourselves, it was not the Ritz, just a couple of people who could not cope.

We set off early to game and I get my programmes pre-order but like 2015 they are not sold on day.

A nice day for it but rain forecast. We got short end of stick with open area with 1 port-aloo. They had a couple of hundred in seated area.

Not their strong team but it's a decent first half. A decent few efforts and a good shape. Not doing a report on game will leave that to Phil Hay.

We had enough chances to win. It rained and there was no escape. Everyone happy with 1-1, like the look of keeper and new centre-back.

Pitch invasion at end luckily does not get ugly. Good humour and happy to see a game.

Someone handed me a camera in a case with keys inside. See picture, get in touch if lost one?
Driver goes long way back to Munich, wrong way I think too busy on his phone.
We end up with Jimmy and Shaun, Wayne Hewitt, Kev Goulding and Bob Lufc Farmery in the Dubliner.

Good to catch up.
A late snack and ready for bed at 12:30.
If all days were this bad I think I would consider retiring!!
