Pre-Season Tour With Mick Hewitt - Day Nine

We are still on with the ticket fiasco and it has brought out very strong opinion.

Gary Sleat had the most balanced view and the same mistake as last year was made this time on first game by the club.

Thank you to those who responded with system problems.

A couple of hours responding to above and writing day 8 blog I find our breakfast has gone up a notch.

Scrambled egg and fresh salmon for me and I notice a bottle of prosecco which Gary Edwards and Pete Southam make use of.

Feel effect now of being at it for 8 days.12 meet in bar gives another couple of hours on said ticket subject.

A pint in hotel and we are off.

A change of scenery, a warm overcast day and we are sweating in no time .I invoke the 3 bar rule and we are 14 people trying to cram into a small bar.

We are seeing a lot more of this pleasant on the eye City.

We move nearer the centre and find cider and pass an hour in the sun watching the world go by.

In the centre we are made to feel unwelcome drinking beer as they want eaters.

Daniel Brown takes them up on it and gets a sausage from van next door!

Now they are hostile.Watch your mobiles lads I see the old trick of a kid barging in behind you and mother takes phone but too many of us.

She knows I know and they are off.

Into the Shamrock pub which stunk and is dingy, that's one for trip advisor.

Two Danny's,Alex and Ian Cokayne Coke head for a random football game, now we are dwindling.

Bar man jogs us out of our lethargy by putting glory ,glory Man Utd on.

Now we have take off.Only kidding he says.We were not. A couple in there and off to the fresh air.

Not a seat to be had in centre on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We find a garden bar and we take an hour to drink a pint.

We decide to try the Indian after a pint in a gambling den opposite.Lads are back from a 5-1 match which they enjoyed and now 13 of us.

Having failed getting into the Indian last night I had a theory they did not want us in there.

We send Pete over to book us in for 9pm, no go full.

I was going to cry discrimination but went and booked us into an Italian instead,13 for 9pm.

Pete and I share a fish platter. A nice wine and a good night with everyone enjoying the meal.

Back to the hotel and the meal had defeated me and an early night as it's match day in a one horse town tomorrow.
