Ireland Pre-Season Tour: Days 5 & 6

Last updated : 18 July 2016 By Michael Hewitt

Headache pills and breakfast cure the thumping in my head!

10:30 depart to the ground, everyone is on and a fair trip to the ground at Tallaght.

We arrive at the Hotel near the ground and they say 12:30 open.

We say 33 of us they say 2 minutes.

We settle into a steady topping up session .As we approach kick off the clans ate gathering.Like any bar near the ground it gets over busy.

Waiting for ...Garry and Becky Wood to arrive .

They are late.I go to sort the teamsheets and it's a grand afternoon .

A great turn out from everywhere in UK and Ireland.

Flags from Fullerton Park, Mexborough, Bury, Southampton, Maryport, Mavericks, Aberdeen, Essex, East Hull and Shropshire to name a few.

A good view in the main stand. A similar format to Wednesday game with 60 mins for those who got 30 with odd exception.

Roofe started and was my pick along with Antonnson who scored his first 2 goals at our club.

Roofe won a penalty which Wood scored in the 3-0 win that should have been 10!

Roofe hit the post with a great curled shot and Sacko looked good.

Vierra, Phillips, Mowatt put in good performances.

Purver out of position looked okay. Green making his debut did not have much to do but his distribution was good.

Like the look of Denton but if Taylor stays it will be a big plus.

Bridcutt on verge of signing will strengthen.

Bartley looked assured but feel uneasy when Bamba is involved.

It's only a friendly but good work out in the sun.

I will leave match reports to experts.

Looked better than Wednesday, next game next Friday (Guiseley).

All back to hotel and a pint of cider in the afternoon sunshine. We stay local and visit a couple of pubs before Garry and Becky join us for a couple of hours.

It's a 5am call so in bed for me at 11pm.

Some never made bed with Pete Southam winning the award.

Everyone in lobby on time, the bus is dead on time and away for our flight home.

Last of the blogs until Slovakia with England.

As usual it's been a blast and thank you to everyone on the trip for making it easy for me.

Until next time Mick.
