Leeds United agree a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper

Leeds United have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, with a medical booked, according to The Athletic.

United have had a strong summer transfer window so far, bringing in Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic, James Trafford, and Nico Elvedi to strengthen the squad after a 14th-place finish in the Premier League last season.

The club also started their new season in excellent fashion, defeating Nottingham Forest 1-0 in their Premier League opener, before a 2-0 win over the same opponents in the EFL Cup to progress into the third round.

But United are keen to add more to their squad before the window shuts on September 1st, and Daniel Farke is now set to add another new goalkeeper to his options after a deal was agreed with Frankfurt for Zetterer.

The 31-year-old is expected to move to Elland Road to become the understudy for Trafford, with Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow having already left this summer, while Lucas Perri is also expected to depart just 12 months after joining.

Zetterer is set to be allowed to depart for the Premier League after Frankfurt complete a loan deal to sign Noah Atubolu, and Leeds have now scheduled a medical, with the club having already organised his travel arrangements.
