Tresor Kandol got Leeds United's League One form back on track with a brace to see off ten-man Bournemouth.

Kandol's double added to Seb Carole's third of the season as Leeds erased the disappointments of Saturday's first defeat of the season away at Carlisle.

It was tough on lowly Bournemouth who levelled through Jem Karacan before the break only to see all their good work undone on the hour-mark as Lee Bradbury struck Leeds defender Matt Heath with a flailing arm.

Kandol returned to haunt former club Bournemouth by opening the scoring as early as the fourth minute as he chased on to Andy Hughes' long ball to finish past Neil Moss.

The powerful striker then went close ten minutes later as Frazer Richardson broke down the right but Kandol headed over at the far post.

Bournemouth then took hold of the game and produced a number of good chances as Jo Kuffour went close, first on 20 minutes with a delicate chip that drifted just wide and then a scorching drive ten minutes later which was saved by Casper Ankergren.

As the pressure intensified Bournemouth were then rewarded for their endeavour with a classy equaliser as the lively Kuffour turned on the edge of the area before teeing up Karacan.

The on-loan Reading youngster needed no invitation to smash a blistering strike high into the top right-hand corner for his first ever career goal.

Minutes before the break the home side almost snatched the lead but Josh Gowling's header was cleared off the line by Heath.

As the second half begun that soon seemed a distant memory as Carole exchanged passes with Jermaine Beckford before curling his third of the season.

Bradbury's dismissal then saw Leeds exert total dominance over the game and the result was sewn up five minutes from time as Kandol headed home a Richardson cross.
