The striker had two years at Leeds between 2004 and 2006, during which time he was loaned out to Stoke, Cardiff and Burnley.

He made just 29 appearances, scoring two goals for the Whites.

Ricketts said: "It is always nice to go back and I am sure I will take the sting away from the rest of the players, because there will be 25,000 people baying for my blood. I never got on with certain people at the club, who are at Sheffield United now, so my time there was short lived and wasn't very happy.

"There are some great people there and they are a terrific club, but I am not playing for them anymore and have no allegiances to them."

The 29-year-old scored his sixth goal of the season in the 2-2 draw at Leicester City on Tuesday.
