Hulse: You Want To Be Either A Train Driver Or A Premiership Striker

With the formalities of his move to Sheffield United set to be completed, Hulse looked back on his 17 months at Elland Road with a great deal of affection.

"I'll always be indebted to Leeds for resurrecting my career," he said in the YEP. "Things had gone a bit sour for me at West Brom and for me to come out of the depths of that to the heights I reached at Leeds is something I will always be grateful for.

"From the chairman to the manager to the rest of the lads, to the tea ladies and the laundry staff, Leeds is full of wonderful people. And the fans. . .well! They are just fantastic and they have to be right up there when you talk about the most dedicated and fanatical support in the country.

"I'm sure people will appreciate that this is a move I simply had to make. When you're a boy growing up you want to be either a train driver or a Premiership striker and this is a dream come true.

"With or without me Leeds have got a fantastic chance of being promoted this coming season and I reckon it won't be long before our paths cross. I hope the money they have received for me will be spent on investment in the squad.

"And I hope Leeds fans will remember me as somebody who always gave of his best and was dedicated to the cause."
